Volume Unfolding
04 Oct 2018A new image filter in Open Inventor Toolkit 9.9/10 generates an "unfolded" volume by resampling the input volume along the surface of a polygonal mesh defined by the application. Unfolding is a powerful technique that is used, for example, to create a dental "panoramic" volume from a CBCT scan of a patient. It can also be used in materials science and inspection to create a "flattened" view of a cylindrical object.
