Height Field coloring from volume data

21 Sep 2021

Height Field rendering provides high-performance and multi-resolution memory management for large seismic horizons. A new feature in Thermo Scientific™ Open Inventor™ 10.10 allows using a 3D volume directly as a horizon property. Each height field vertex is assigned a color based on the interpolated voxel value at that position in the volume. Interpolation is performed on the fly by the GPU. Voxel values can be computed from multiple co-blended volumes as usual. Typical usage is displaying the value of seismic attribute volumes on horizon probes.
